Reflection

Mirrored portrait of a smiling woman

My reflection has become the

darkest part of me

A hollow imitation of who I used to be

Contempt and disdain now

poison what I see

As broken thoughts keep whispering beneath me

Restless urges claw against my skin

While shadows slowly pull me in

The silence hums inside my head

Like prayers unanswered from the dead

I wander blindly through the cloudless night

Still searching for a trace of light

Reckless abandon leads the way

Toward the ashes of another day

Not stopping until the numbness ends

While haunted echoes still pretend

Psychosis numbs when it’s needed most

Revealing my reflection as my own ghost
