Today we're going to need a hug and I
wish that I could be there.
We find solace in the grief that we share.
Our lives flipped around when we
heard that he had been found.
It just couldn’t be true. We weren't ready to feel this blue.
Santa Claus was his forte, and he naturally looked the part.
He loved to pretend, loved to play and loved to drive his golf cart.
When he wasn’t channeling a mad scientist or a silly clown,
his favorite times in life were when his family was all around.
He had an array of decorations for Christmas and Halloween.
The lights and sounds would draw passersby curious about the scene.
He nibbled on little toes and made animal balloons. He loved his
monster movies; from Svengoolie to the Black Lagoon.
He loved his Boston Red Sox, watching as many games as possible.
Like every diehard fan, he thought that they were unstoppable.
We thought he was unstoppable too.
We didn’t have the chance to properly bid him adieu.
He had lots of love and we thought that it was enough,
God decided otherwise, and beckoned him above.
