Journey through time

Tattered rays of sunshine and
crumpled blades of grass
Scatter the world around us
foregoing all that has passed
What we once had has come upon violent & transient seas
In its wake, two weary travelers - riddled with tribulation and unease
How we grow and prosper with the seasons of our lives,
remains to those a mystery who are unwilling to sacrifice
Though the map is laid before us we still cannot be sure that
The path we chose to venture down will surely hold the cure
Sometimes we must abandon that which holds a certainty
In order to reach the distant shores and retrieve what
was once out of reach
Only then can we proclaim a glorious victory and scoff in
the faces of the weak and unwilled still lost in those violence seas
